Maximum physical size is calculated independently for both sides: print inches = pixels ÷ PPI. A 6000 × 4000 pixel image measures 20 × 13.33 inches at 300 PPI.
The result is uncropped. Choosing a paper size with a different aspect ratio removes pixels and can reduce the effective resolution of the final composition.

There is no single PPI that fits every production method. Start with the printer’s requirement and consider viewing distance.

Printer DPI describes ink-dot placement and is not the same measurement as image pixels per inch.
The maximum uncropped dimensions are 20 × 13.33 inches, or approximately 50.8 × 33.87 centimetres.
The image measures 18.75 × 12.5 inches before any crop or bleed is applied.
The file can fill 20 × 13.33 inches at poster density, assuming the production provider accepts 150 PPI.
A metadata value such as 72 DPI does not set the maximum size. The actual pixel dimensions are the essential input.
The calculated size uses the full image. Recalculate with the post-crop dimensions for a different paper ratio.
Compression, focus, noise and sharpening also affect visible quality even when the PPI calculation looks sufficient.
A 6000 × 4000 pixel image is approximately 20 × 13.33 inches at 300 PPI or 25 × 16.67 inches at 240 PPI before cropping.
Yes, if a lower effective PPI is acceptable for the production method and viewing distance. Ask the printer which minimum density they recommend.
Use the final exported pixel dimensions. Cropping, rotation, perspective correction and resampling can all change the available pixels.
