Divide the number of pixels by pixels per inch: inches = pixels ÷ PPI. A 3000-pixel-wide image at 300 PPI prints 10 inches wide.
PPI describes the image’s pixels per inch. Printer DPI is a separate hardware measure, although people often use “DPI” when calculating image print size.
The same pixel dimensions produce a smaller print as PPI increases. Values are shown in inches and assume no cropping.

A lower effective PPI may suit a large print viewed from farther away. Use the printer’s own requirement for production.

The uncropped image measures 25 × 16.67 inches. A different paper ratio may require cropping one dimension.
The embedded value does not determine maximum size by itself. Calculate from the actual pixels and intended inches.
Cropping removes pixels. Use the dimensions after cropping when the image and paper have different aspect ratios.
As print size increases, effective PPI falls. Check the result at the expected viewing distance and against the printer’s specification.
It depends on the chosen density. At 300 PPI, one inch contains 300 pixels. At 96 PPI, one inch contains 96 pixels.
No. A pixel has no fixed size in inches. Its physical size depends on how many pixels are placed into each inch.
300 PPI is a common target for close-viewed prints. Posters and large-format work viewed from farther away can often use a lower effective resolution. Confirm the printer’s requirement.
